The Black Mastiff is a powerful breed known for its thick grooves, tasteful leads, and soothing melodies. Though new to the scene they have over 35 years of previous touring and playing experience combined! This breed of musicianship is well versed in the trials and triumphs of being a Canadian working band. The Black Mastiff has a gentle temperament, but will not back down when presented with the opportunity to flex their powerful, yet soulful sound.Pyramids by Black Mastiff
Kaelen Ohm & Rena Kozak got together in early 2011 and started writing original pop songs, finding their own sound with jangly reverb-drenched guitar leads and dreamy vocal harmonies. With the rhythmic support of Chris Reimer on drums and Matt Swann on Bass, the 4-piece recorded a 4 track EP before Reimer passed away in February 2012. Gold is currently active with Calgary drummer Chris Dadge.Losing Your Hair EP by Gold
Despite the fact that Calgary has always been known as a rock and roll kind of town, there has been a significant dearth in bands with an actual backbone as of late. A lot of the indie world may have traded in their death wishes for higher pursuits, but a group of four dirtbags in Calgary remain steadfast on their path towards sex, drugs and rock and roll. Daywalker is the sound of thunder galloping down from the mountains, trident in hand and fists ablaze, raised high in the cool night air.Daywalker by Daywalker
Matthew Robinson burst onto the Alberta music scene when he relocated to Lethbridge in June of 2009. Born and raised in Prince George, BC his music career began at an early age.his music sensibilities being impacted by a relentless exposure to the music of Lightfoot and Cockburn.Something That We Did by Matthew Robinson
Stars from Streetlights is a band originating from Lethbridge, AB. It was formed by artists Steve Birss and Austrian Graf when they began writing together in July of 2009. They added new member Ray Banman in the fall of 2010. Austrian brings a smooth and emotional texture to Steve's glitchy electronic beats. These things paired with Ray's melodic and driving bass lines, provide for a unique listening experience. Stars from Streetlights likes to use a variety of instruments to create their sound, from analog monosynths, to digital software, to a 30 year old Rhodes. Together the trio displays the emotional side of electronic music, classifying their genre as 'emotronic.' Stars From Streetlights will be releasing their first album in March 2012.
The Lethbridge Community Taiko Association (LCTA) is a non-profit organization formed from members of Lethbridge's first ever taiko group. We are the largest taiko group in Alberta .

Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. In 2002 Andrew moved to Lethbridge Alberta to study music and education at the University of Lethbridge. During this time he ended up being the energetic frontman for a very popular local group called The Turncoats. This group recorded two discs (Bloodrunnin, Teeth Like A Chainsaw) and played at venues and festivals all over Western Canada including The South Country Fair, The Spectrum Festival, the Lethbridge Folk Club, the Kispiox Valley Music Festival, the Peace Starts at Home Festival, the Ironwood Stage and Grill, Better Than Freds, Broken City, and The Slice Bar and Grill.
Bent eight: 50's termanology for a hopped up v eight engine. Bent Eight was formed by Dino Caravaggio (guitar/vocals) and Chris Bullock (doghouse) in 2007. The band has been through a few drumers and will have that seat filled soon. We consider ourselves neo rockabilly as we add a little dirt to a traditional sound. The band has gotten great feedback since playing localy. We have been in the local news paper a few times and have also had the opurtunity to open for rockabilly hallafamer Ronnie Hayward, the Tennessee Three and Canadian rock(now blues) legend Jerry Doucette. The band has been practicing and adding more songs to the playlist to get ready to play more gigs in the summer. When the band was formed we just set out to have some fun, but since we have been getting some attention we've decided to take it a step further. Chris and his wife Mary had to move to Ottawa for Chris's career so it has been hard to find a upright bass player.
The junkmen are a two man band offering a big mix of cajun, country, rockin' hillbilly, twists and turns on the works of Rabbie Burns, with some waltzes, jigs an reels thrown in for good measure. Look out for them on the street, on a stage, anywhere they can find; stomping out their steel-toed rhythm soiled with Ayrshire sod.Steel Linin' Chant by Junkman's Choir
